How Can We Measure?
Students will use their hands, feet, and fingers to measure the length of objects. Then, students will use Ari’s distance app to measure the same lengths. Finally, students will compare the measurements taken from both methods.
Mapping a Floor Plan
Students will use Ari’s distance app to create a floor plan of the classroom. Then redesign the space to create the ideal learning environment.
Ari Tells Height
Students will learn the sine, cosine, and tangent trigonometry functions and use Ari’s distance app to calculate their heights given an angle and one side length.
Katherine Johnson the Human Robot
Take a look at the accomplishments of Katherine Johnson, one of the first black women to become a NASA mathematician. In honor of Black History Month, create a flight path for Ozobot’s spaceship to land on the moon, just like Katherine did!
Bowling for Numbers, K-1 (Ozobot 3D CAD Library)
Using 3D-printed bowling pins, students will take Ozobot bowling for numbers. Each attempt will provide students with the numbers needed to complete a series of subtraction and addition problems. Visit ozobot.com/3d-cad-library for all the STL files
Snowman Skip Counting
Practice skip counting by programming Ozobot to lap around the snowman at different speeds.
Number Wheel Spin
Get ready to spin your way to subtraction success and show off your mental math skills! Program Ozobot to race around the wheel, generating numbers to subtract using visual representations such as number lines, ten frames, or drawings.
Light-Year Math Mission
Blast off on a “Light-Year Math Mission” to calculate how far alien planets are from Earth by adding double digit numbers. Then use Direction Color Codes to guide Ozobot on an intergalactic journey to visit each alien planet!
Addition and Subtraction Mystery
Students will read addition and subtraction sentences in a story and practice adding and subtracting with numbers to 20. Then, program Ozobot to help tell the story.
Subtraction Storytime
Students will read a story that includes key words, create number sentences, and solve subtraction problems using numbers up to 20. Then, program Ozobot to show the story.
