Digraph Dash-H Sounds
Students use the four H digraphs (wh, sh, th, ch) as they decode single-syllable short vowel words to complete a color-code map.
Welcome to Our School with Ozobot!
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to design an interactive Open House map using color coding skills, incorporating three different locations within their school and using asynchronous codes for their Ozobots to travel.
Digraph Dash: Three Letters
Students use four three-letter digraphs (scr, spl, spr, str) as they decode short vowel words to complete a color-code map.
10 Ways to Hear Snow
After students listen and discuss the book, Ten Ways to Hear Snow, students will recreate Lina’s trip to Sitti’s.
There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell
After listening to a story, students will program their bot to travel around a coding map to help retell the events in sequential order.
CCM Base Kit Lesson 6: What Happens Next?
Ozobot’s base programming tells it to choose a random direction when it arrives at an intersection. This presents fun surprises throughout Ozobot’s adventure story. Students will create different possibilities for their story to continue.
Phonics Review
Students will code their Ozobot to go ‘slow’ or ‘turbo’ based on the phonics sound they hear in each word along the path.
Create a Pirate Map
Students complete a compass rose, then write a story to send their ozobot on an adventure to find a pirate’s treasure. Students will practice directional skills and writing skills.
Aw, Shucks!
Students will identify words with the -aw sound pattern in single-syllable words by using the same color code “dance” for each sound pattern.
Subject & Predicate Review
Students will review the concept of subject and predicate. They will color code the Ozobot with the speed code that matches: subject = slow, predicate = turbo.
