CCM Base Kit Lesson 3: Finding Your Way Around
Student groups will create new routes for Ozobot to follow using the Start, Turn, and Win/Exit magnets. Students will work together to see if they can help Ozobot navigate its way around some new challenges.
Classify by Size
Students will practice cutting out paper tiles, and classifying them by size. Then, Ozobot will help students as they explain how they classified each group of shapes.
Get to 100 points! (100th Day Activity)
In this activity, students will work together to code Ozobot through drawings of 10 groups of 10. Ozobot will “collect 10 points” each time it gets to a group and “cheer” until reaching 100 points at the end and then celebrate with fireworks lights.
Scrambled Sight Words
Students will sort through scrambled letters to spell sight words with an Ozobot path.
How to Catch a Turkey
This is a companion lesson to go along with the book How to Catch a Turkey by Adam Wallace illustrated by Andy Elkerton. Your students will create a turkey (Ozobot) trap!
Navigating the Classroom with Ozoblockly
Using Ozoblockly, program Ozobot to move through the classroom. Ozobot must avoid three obstacles and make his way from the door to his desk!
Errorless Letter Matching
This lesson is designed to be an errorless letter matching activity for students with special needs. Letters can be from student names or letter of the day/week.
If You Give a Pig a Pancake – Retell a story through Coding
After listening to a story, students will program their bot to travel around a coding map to help retell the events in sequential order.
Errorless Mazes (Letter Sounds)
These templates allow younger students and students with special needs to make their own line mazes with different letter sounds after introductions or reviews.
Irregular Perimeter with Minecraft & Ozobots
Find the perimeter of irregular shapes with Minecraft characters while also creating Ozobot paths around their perimeter.
