    Students should know or be aware of nouns. Students should know their directions; left, right, and straight. Students should also understand basic color coding with the Ozobot.

    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

    These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

    Start by asking students to give you examples of nouns. Explain that nouns can be a person, place, or thing. Provide a few examples, then compose a list of nouns with students.

    Practice the directions, left, right, and straight.

    Divide students into small groups or pairs.

    Hand out a Noun Maze sheet, color code guide, and color code markers to each group or pair.

    Then tell students to identify and highlight all the nouns in the maze.

    Allow students to use the color code guide to code the Ozobot to travel through the maze only going by nouns. They can program their Ozobot to go over as many nouns as possible but must travel over at least 3 nouns.

    Allow students to decorate their Ozobot with a Halloween costume.
