    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

    Instruction

Where should the Ozobot travel during their summer adventures? Should the Ozobot visit the ocean, or Disney, or the desert? Maybe the Ozobot could visit Mario World or time travel to see dinosaurs?

Have students work in groups to brainstorm their summer vacation adventure.

Draw a blueprint on a piece of paper. Blueprint should include:

    1. the line for the Ozobot to travel
    2. the placement of decorations (ex. Draw different ocean animals if the Ozobot is traveling to the ocean)
    3. Draw the code boxes on the line to determine which codes to use. (ex. Draw a fast code if their is a shark nearby or a spin code if there are jellyfish floating around)
    4. Once the blueprint is finalized, begin designing on a poster or large paper. Students can either draw the decorations or use construction paper to create 3D artwork to place on the map.

    1. Once the maps are designed, they can test the Ozobots and share with their classmates.
    1. Bonus- record the Ozobot’s adventures and have students edit the video with sound effects.

    4. Student Practice (Student-Facing Instructions)

These are step-by-step instructions delivered directly to the students as they work independently or in groups
