    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

    These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

    Each group of students will have a Solar System set with premade paths and empty section to place a color code. Teacher will project pdf of Solar System on a projection board.

    Teacher will ask how to we give instructions to robots and computers. Teacher will lead students to the word coding. Coding are the instructions that robots and computers understand.

    Teacher will project a pdf of the Color Codes used for this lesson (movement and special moves). Students groups will have copies of Color Codes to refer to.

    These are step-by-step instructions delivered directly to the students as they work independently or in groups

    Students will receive the Solar Systems papers and choose which planet they will Color Code.

    Students will review the Color Codes and their patterns with the teacher. Students will practice completing a Color Code on the white space of the paper.

    After discussing the Color Code they will use, students will use markers to color the codes in the empty space.

    After all codes are completed, students will assembly their planets in number order around the sun. Once completed, teacher will tape papers in place.

    Finally, students will power on their Ozobot/Spaceship and monitor its movement around the sun. Students will problem solve if Ozobot/Spaceship doesn't follow correctly and make adjustments.
