    2. Preparation

This helps the teacher prepare for the lesson before the class session

    A. Student Materials

    B. Background Knowledge (Optional)

    C. Lesson Tips (Optional)

Add tips for the educator that don't fit into Direct Instruction or Student Practice. You can always return to this page to add more.

Hang up a poster with Ozobot codes or print a copy of the Ozobot codes for the students.

Depending on your class you may want to review counting up/on with money. You may want to create an example to show them before they create their own.

    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

    Instruction

Teacher will explain that the students (alone or as a group) will create a path with stations. This is where you might want to setup constraints.

Some that worked well: use at least 4 stations and 2 codes, 5 stations and 3 codes, 6 stations and 3 codes etc..

Consider also setting limits for value. "Your total may not be less than $1.00, or more than $5.00."

    Instruction

At each station, square box next to the code path, students will place a coin.

    Instruction

Students will then run the Ozobot on the code path and count up the money as the bot passes each station and completes the path.

    4. Student Practice (Student-Facing Instructions)

These are step-by-step instructions delivered directly to the students as they work independently or in groups
