Use address labels to cover mistakes and redraw the Color Code.

There are two activity sheets, one more difficult than the other. Note that there is more than one solution.

    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

    Instruction

This activity will allow students to think critically to create the correct path to visit each letter in the word LOVE. Each letter is aligned with a blank Color Code space. Ozobot will spell out the word LOVE by visiting each letter one time only in order using the Direction at Intersection Color Codes. The more challenging version contains more than one of each letter. The solutions can be the same for both maps.

Advanced students should complete the activity with the extra letters on the map.

    Instruction

Hand out the appropriate version for your students. Explain that they will program Ozobot to pass each letter in the word LOVE in order, one time only using the Right at Intersection, Straight at Intersection, and Left at Intersection Color Codes.

    Instruction

When students have filled in the Color Codes, calibrate Ozobot and test their solution.

Allow students to debug using white address labels and redrawing the Color Codes.

    4. Student Practice (Student-Facing Instructions)

These are step-by-step instructions delivered directly to the students as they work independently or in groups
