2-3 students can use one Ozobot to complete this lesson. This is a good lesson to do around Thanksgiving when the leaves are changing and we are talking about being thankful.

    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

    Instruction

Teacher will read aloud, "The Giving Tree," to the whole class.

    Instruction

Teacher will ask students to help compile a list of ways they are giving to others.

    Instruction

Teacher will model how to draw the outline of a puffy tree using markers. Teacher will then teach the code, "U Turn End of Line" by showing how to write the following color sequence, Black-Blue-Red at the beginning and end of the tree.

    Instruction

Students will then fill in the tree with green leaves that have ways they are giving written on the inside. While students fill in the leaves, other students can share the Ozobot to make sure their code works and the Ozobot can follow the lines.

    4. Student Practice (Student-Facing Instructions)

These are step-by-step instructions delivered directly to the students as they work independently or in groups
