    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

    These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

    -You will be learning about the different layers of the rainforest. You will be learning the names, researching about what makes them different, and then comparing their functions.

    -I will provide you with research materials- such as articles, videos, books about the rainforest and discuss the layers of the rainforest: Emergent Layer Canopy Layer Shurb Layer/Understory Forest Floor

    -Every group will create a poster that includes these main layers, and code an Ozobot to travel through the diagram/poster. -You may add codes or use Ozoblockly to add different beahviors to the Ozobot.

    -We will have a gallery Rainforest walk so we get a chance to visit each group's presentation.

    In your group you will research about each layer and draft a plan with their notes. Students add codes to your Ozobot track to reflect the characteristics of each layer.
