    • Actively watch the linked YouTube video of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"
      • Stop for comprehension and discuss the growing number pattern created by the events in the story
      • Discuss character development from beginning, middle, and end (life cycle of a butterfly)
    • Students will need glue and scissors to cut and sort the events from the story.
      • Note: coloring the events took too much time! I eliminated coloring from future lessons!
    • Rubric is attached to last page of linked lesson!

    Students will actively listen and watch the The Very Hungry Caterpillar! Students will discuss the key elements of fiction, focusing on plot/sequencing of events. Students will have the opportunity to sequence events by weekday, use ordinal numbers to demonstrate the life cycle of a butterfly, and create basic color code to command ozobot.

    If time permits or the experience level of using Ozobot is higher: Students may design their own track and story board to retell the events from the story. Be sure to discuss how sequencing events and the color codes are examples of algorithms, connect the computer science language!
