    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

    Instruction

We will now choose 5 of the 13 Greek gods and goddesses that you categorized and write their names at each stop. Draw the god or goddess with some representation of their attribute from the chart. For instance, Poseidon would have a trident, Mercury would have fast shoes or a messenger bag, etc.

    Instruction

Then at each stop count the first line as the 1s and count by 1s. 1-5

Then at the second line we will count by 2s. 2-10

The third line we will count by 5s. 5-25

The fourth line we will count by 10s. 10- 50

    Instruction

After the story map has been set, the students will pick one of the 4 Ozobot "moves" to represent each god or goddess. The student will need to use one move more than once, but should use all 4 moves. Then the student will name the move themselves for each Greek god. This will allow the student to connect to their own background knowledge, thus making the learning more concrete.

    Instruction

Then the students will code the Greek gods story map.

    Instruction

The teacher will then give instructions for groups to "run" their Ozobot story map and have the students count each stop in chorus. The first round they will county by 1s. The second round (let someone new start it) will count by 2s. The third round by 5s and the fourth round by 10s.

    4. Student Practice (Student-Facing Instructions)

These are step-by-step instructions delivered directly to the students as they work independently or in groups

    Student Instructions

    Instruction

Look at your digital chart of Greek gods and goddesses. How did you categorize them? Pick 5 gods or goddesses according to your categories that you would like to put on your map and look at their attributes.

Please upload any student resources, videos, etc. (Max. size: 512 MB videos, 10 MB all other files)

    Goal

    Instruction

Write the names of each god on the story map. Then draw each Greek god and illustrate the attribute you wrote down for the god.

Under the name, there are four lines. On the first line, count the gods by 1s. They should be numbered 1-5.

Then, on the second line, count the Gods by 2s. They should be numbered 2-10.

On the third line, count the Greek gods but count by 5s and write the number on the line.

On the fourth line, count the Greek gods but count by 10s and write the number on the line.

Please upload any student resources, videos, etc. (Max. size: 512 MB videos, 10 MB all other files)

    Goal

    Instruction

Look at the page that has the Ozobot's four "moves". For each Greek god, pick a "move" that represents the god. Rename the move to something in your own words.

Go ahead and color a "code" for each Greek god and write the move you named. Each move will be used at least once, and one move will be used twice. Please create two different names for the move that resemble the Greek god.

Please upload any student resources, videos, etc. (Max. size: 512 MB videos, 10 MB all other files)

    Goal
