    2. Preparation

This helps the teacher prepare for the lesson before the class session

    A. Student Materials

    B. Background Knowledge (Optional)

    C. Lesson Tips (Optional)

Add tips for the educator that don't fit into Direct Instruction or Student Practice. You can always return to this page to add more.

Make sure the bots are fully charged. Though the activity says one bot per student these numbers are flexible based on your needs. The theme of the lesson is flexible, as well. If you are not studying Penguins, or you feel the path is too difficult or easy, you can modify for the needs of your students!

During independent coding there were many mistakes and I did not have any sticker codes so I used white labels. I just cut the size needed and covered the error and students were able to continue problem-solving and coding. Having a visual of what each code is was beneficial for students as they were working. I had to have a separate display for these codes.

    3. Direct Instruction (Teacher-Facing Instructions)

These are the steps the educator will read. Include any front loading, modeling or explicit instruction before students work independently or in groups.

Click here to receive a copy of the google slides presentation I used for the lesson.

Prior to sharing with students look in the speaker notes of each slide for instructions. When you share with students you will PRESENT the lesson. (This will allow transitions or animations to play.)

    4. Student Practice (Student-Facing Instructions)

These are step-by-step instructions delivered directly to the students as they work independently or in groups
