Ozobot Classroom

Parts of Speech Match-Up

Students will code Ozobot to match parts of speech with the definition and function. Students will then create a chart with words from each part of speech, and create sentences using the words to write a fable.

Ozobot’s Day of Similes

Students complete commonly used similes to tell about Ozobot’s day and use Color Codes to program their bot to demonstrate the similes.

ID the Structure

Students will identify the structure of short passages of text as chronology, comparison, cause/effect or problem/solution, then add the correct Color Code to the Activity Sheet to get Ozobot to the correct structure.

Engineering Design Process Lesson 3

Students will use the Engineering Design Process to develop a model that uses Ozobot’s point counter. The scenario is 8th Grade mentors accompanying new 6th graders through school on the first day collecting and giving away items.

Engineering Design Process Lesson 2

Students will create a model to solve the problem of getting their Ozobot from the Lunchroom to the Science Classroom in 30 seconds while avoiding obstacles.

Engineering Design Process Lesson 1

Students will work through the Engineering Design Process in guiding Ozobot from the top of a page (Locker) to the bottom of a page (Lunch Room).

What’s the Speed?

Students will follow the scientific method to determine the speed of their bot when it is programmed by different Color Codes.

Energy Road Trip

Students will use lines and Color Codes to program their bot to mimic a car to demonstrate potential energy and changes in kinetic energy.

Trait Match-Up

Students explore how certain traits are inherited in animals by programming their Ozobot to randomly choose a trait from a pair of parents. Then students put the chosen inherited traits from the parents together to draw an example of the offspring.

Patterns in Motion

Students look at different patterns to predict the motion of their bot. Students use their predictions to program their bot to show the patterns in motion. Then, students create real-world simulations of patterns in motion using lines and Color Codes
